Senior Exhibition

2020, Procreate, 8.5x14”.
This was a proposed design for the Northern Michigan University: School of Art and Design’s Fall 2020 Senior Exhibition.

The students are free to choose the theme and scope of their work, so I looked for common ground among the seniors. Because we all lived and studied on the coast of Lake Superior, the exhibition was set for stormy November, and we were all struggling with the uncertainty of returning to college during the pandemic, I chose to depict sailboats on a churning sea.

“The lake, it is said, never gives up her dead when the gales of November come booming.”

Read to Succeed

2019, Adobe Photoshop, 24x36”. This poster made to promote reading and their role in the trades.

In secondary school, a number of my classmates became frustrated with coursework and claimed they wouldn’t need to study once enrolled in trade school. Unfortunately, most trades seem to require a great deal of technical knowledge, and it was my hope to suggest its role here.

This poster’s design was influenced by Socialist Realism.
